Dr. Jennifer L. Butterfoss Barton is a York High graduate and is proud to return to the Peninsula to practice orthodontics with her father. Dr. Barton attended the College of William and Mary, where she received a Bachelor in Business Administration and a minor in Chemistry while completing her pre-med requirements. During college, she enjoyed playing club soccer as well as coaching an elementary school soccer team. She also played the flute in the Gallery Players ensemble in Williamsburg. Jennifer was active in her sorority as well as serving as an Orientation Aide and a member of Operation Smile.

Dr. Barton attended the Medical College of Virginia at Virginia Commonwealth University, where she received her Doctorate in Dental Surgery. During dental school, she served as class secretary, class representative to the American Student Dental Association and social chair for Psi Omega dental fraternity. She was also involved in the admissions process. Jennifer was an A.D. Williams Research fellow, completing a research project involving digital panoramic radiography. Dr. Barton graduated Magna Cum Laude and a member of Omicron Kappa Upsilon and Phi Beta Phi honor society.

Dr. Barton completed her orthodontic residency at the University of Louisville in Louisville, Kentucky. In addition to her orthodontic certificate, she earned a Masters in Oral Biology. Dr. Barton is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, Southern Association of Orthodontists and Peninsula Dental Society.

Dr. Barton’s husband, Dan, is a general dentist at Beach Dental Center in Virginia Beach. They have a daughter, Anna Lee, who was born in May of 2006.
